Gichner Systems Group, the leader in
the design and manufacture of Tactical Shelters and Shelter
Systems has announced that Thomas E. Mills IV has been appointed
as its new President and CEO in December 2004. He replaces
Charles Atwood, who served as Gichner's President and CEO
for more than 15 years.
Prior to joining Gichner, Mr. Mills worked from 1994 to
2004 for Metrologic Instruments Inc. (NASDAQ: MTLG), where
he held the position of President and COO. During his tenure
at Metrologic, he was instrumental in the growth of the
company from $33 million to over $170 million in annual
sales. He brings this proven record of growth and a wealth
of experience and strong leadership to Gichner. His appointment
will ensure the continuation of the ongoing expansion of
Gichner's market share with new and existing products to
increase sales and profit.
Mr. Mills stated, “I am excited about the many opportunities
that Gichner has to increase sales and profit. Gichner is
the leader in the design and manufacture of high-quality
shelters for the US armed forces. We plan to expand our
product offering in Gichner's core markets and expand into
currently un-serviced markets with new products and services.
In addition, Gichner will expand its presence in international
shelter markets starting in Europe.”
